Artist's Description

Part of the mating ritual the male Sandhill Crane will jump into the air and throw sticks, mud and just about anything into the air as well on himself. The female is nearby just out of the picture frame. Some times he will do this display when approached by a photographer! Good thing they don't usually attack unless they have a young one then i have enough sense to stay far away!
