This was photographed with a Canon 7D using a Canon 100-400 mm. lens.
This was photographed near Horicon, Wisconsin.
These two endangered Whooping Cranes were released about a month ago at Horicon National Wildlife Refuge as part of a program called Direct Autumn Release (DAR). The young Whooping Cranes seem to be doing fine. They have named them after stars from 1970's sitcom characters. Here is a link for more information about these amazing birds and there comeback. http://www.savingcranes.org/whats-new/2013/07/icfs-whooping-crane-chicks-cast-for-critical-role-in-the-wild/
