Lake Flies also known as Midges emerge in horrific numbers on Lake Winnebago each spring and i was there to witness this amazing emergence. This female Red winged Blackbird was feeding on them. Many types of birds, mammals, reptiles, insects and fishes rely on these small but numerous insects.
