Amazing capture here too! Just seeing the tail, that looks like a big fish (you know what kind and can you see it thrashing about inside the pouch?) caught and staring down its captor's throat! The pelican's stomach must be in anticipation it seems! So could the pelican really manage to win the battle and gulp that whole thing down entirely okay? Does the fish put up a good fight, if eaten, does the unlucky prey get swallowed wriggling all the way as well?!
Thomas Young replied:
It is amazing to watch these birds catch and eat fish and sometimes very large fish. For the fish it is a losing battle.
